SC258 and Some Quick Pics

Good afternoon,
It looks like this will most likely be my last post before Christmas (if everything goes as planned). I will be flying back to New York tomorrow and hopefully staying until the 25th or so, but that depends on when the banks can close on our house here in Las Vegas. We will need to come back for that, but no date has been set...I was able to fit in some mad stamping while I was packing up the apartment, I just wanted to make sure I had enough Christmas cards made to take back with me cuz now my stamping stuff is sitting in a storage facility :( This first pic is of the cards I made using this week's Sketch Challenge #258 over at Splitcoaststampers. I made a dozen using 2 coordinating sheets of designer paper from My Mind's Eye and a Christmas Fluffles image (Stampendous) and a CTMH elf image. All Cardstock is Stampin' Up! and the images were colored in using my SU! markers. As you look at my photos, notice that all were made using just paper, stamps and ink. No ribbon, brads or buttons so that I can mail these quickly and easily in a regular SU! envelope. Yesterday I spent over an hour in line at the post office to mail some of my cards that were embellished and needed padded envies and extra postage, yikes! The next 2 pics are cards and the last 2 pics show the gift card holders that I made. For all of these I used designer paper by My Mind's Eye and SU! cardstock, ink and markers for coloring. All of the white circles are punched using SU! 1&3/4" punch and then mounted on a Spellbinder's nestibilities scallop circle die. I chose to make them all the same size to make thing go quicker. Each group of cards was made in 3 - 4 hours which for me is like Speedy Gonzalez!! Woot! Woot! The ornament cards used SU! stamp sets as well as the sentiments for the reindeer cards. Reindeer image is from CTMH.

For the gift card holders I used a Changito monkey and a Penguin Pals stamp by Stampendous and the 2 snowman image is a stamp that I got from the $1 bin at either Michael's or Joann's last year. The sentiment inside is from a SU! set.
Well, that is all I have time for, I got a couple more things to do fast-fast and then I gotta shutdown my PC and prepare it for storage. Someday I hope to get a laptop so that I can have a computer with me all the time...someday. Happy Holidays to you all and wish me luck with the purchase of our house here in Las Vegas as well as the sale of our house back in New York!
Thanks a bunch for taking time to stop by!!

Christmas Trees

Good afternoon,
I just thought I would post another quick and fun Christmas card using the Patterned Pines set from Stampin' Up!. This is a hostess level 1 set from the holiday mini catalog. I used my SU! markers to ink up the image and then cut out each tree separately. And these SU! buttons are just the perfect accent for my trees, don'tcha think?
Here is my complete recipe:

Stamps:
  • Patterened Pines - SU!
  • Loads of Love - SU!

Paper:

  • Jolly patterned paper - American Crafts
  • Tempting Turquoise, Garden Green, Whisper White - SU!

Ink:

  • Real Red - SU!

Accessories:

  • Buttons, silver elastic cord, scallop oval and oval punches, Many Marvelous Markers - SU!

Well, that's it for now. I am getting our appartment packed up, so no stamping for me for...well, I'm not sure how long. We have been renting a place in Las Vegas since September. We have found our dream home and had planned on being moved in before Christmas, but the house we are buying is a short sale and banks take their sweet 'ol time with things so we will basically be homeless in Las Vegas! All our stuff here is going into storage because our lease is up. Luckily, our house back home is still in the selling process (we won't close until after the new year) so we are gonna go back to the wintery upstate NY on Monday. It will be good to spend the holiday with family and friends. I have a few more pics of cards to upload over the next couple of days and then I will have to pack up my PC and put it into storage as well! I am know I am not going to like being without my stampin' supplies and my pc, but I should have enough stuff going on over the next few weeks to keep me busy!!

OSW SUO 10 card set

Good morning all. I've been a little preoccupied this past week...waiting on banks and such for the purchase of our new home here in Las Vegas. I did finish my Stampin' Up! only card set using my One Sheet Wonder template. I must say that they turned out pretty good! I really like them. I posted my template again so you don't have to scroll down to my earlier one to find it. Like I said, all products used are Stampin' Up! so I am not going to write up the recipe like I normally do. I will say that I used a 12" x 12" piece of Merry Moments designer series paper. love that paper! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to leave a comment or contact me thru my email! Enjoy your day!

OSW Template as Promised

Hi all! So, I worked hard today and made my One Sheet Wonder template all nice-nice so I could post a pic. I also took some more pics of the cards and labelled them so you can match up the cut pieces to the cards.
If you have yet to try a 'One Sheet Wonder' card set, this is the perfect time to give it a whirl. With just a few sheets of designer paper you can get your Christmas cards made in a flash! I am half way finished with my SUO OSW card set and I will post pics when I am done!

One Sheet Wonder Card Sets

Okay, I finally have pics of my first OSW card sets. There is a slight learning curve as I took several samples that I found on SCS and created my own from them to suit my card designs. You can either use one 12" x 12" double sided designer paper to make one set or two coordinating 12" x 12" single sided designer papers cut exactly the same to make 2 sets, as I did. I could have made 12 cards for each set, but wanted to add some layers so my sets have 10 cards each.
I have to re-draw my 12 x 12 template so that I can post it tomorrow.
I used several different companies'
products, so let me list my recipe like this:

Stampin' Up!
  • Stamp Sets (Trendy Trees, Great Friend, Animal Stories, Forest Friends, Crazy For Cupcakes, Heard From The Heart, Short & Sweet, On Your Birthday, Teeny Tiny Wishes)
  • Paper (Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Really Rust, Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery)
  • Inks (Really Rust, Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Close To Cocoa, Crushed Curry)
  • Accessories (Brads, Punches, Ribbon, Buttons, Linen Thread, Blender pens)

Designer Paper - Complete Boy paper pack by My Mind's Eye

Cuttlebug - Provo Craft

Sizzix Dies

Nestibilities Dies

Ribbon, Brads, Gems - Michaels

Along with my template, I will post some close up pics tomorrow. I am also planning on doing a Christmas set next using a sheet of Merry Moments DSP and all SU! products for all my SU! followers!

Thanks for stoppin' by!

CC244 and SC254 Season's Greetings

Good afternoon,
My card for today was created for 2 challenges over at SCS. I chose to use this week's Color Challenge CC244 and Sketch Challenge SC254. The colors we were to use were Very Vanilla, Bravo Burgandy and Kraft. This week's sketch was alot of fun to work with and I thought the colors were perfect for this image. I must explain my deep disappointment with my card, as I went to take a pic I dropped my card face down and I had crystal stickles on the berries. Needless to say, the stickles were still wet and, well you can see what happened-boohoo. You would think that I would know better by now...anywho, other than that I think it looks pretty good!
Here is the recipe:

Stamps
  • A Cardinal Christmas (SU!)
  • Snow Swirled (SU!)

Paper

  • Very Vanilla, Bravo Burgandy, Kraft (SU!)
  • Figgy Pudding (Basic Grey)

Ink

  • Black Stazon
  • Bravo Burgandy, Mellow Moss, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede (SU!)

Accessories

  • Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon (SU!)
  • Blender pens (SU!)
  • Crystal Stickles(haha) (Ranger)

I colored the image using my SU! ink pads and blender pens.

I am still working on those card sets. My time has been split in many directions as my husband and I are in the process of selling a house, buying a house and living in an apartment in Las Vegas were we are moving to from Upstate NY. All the while still trying to keep up with my 4 kids and all they have going on back in NY and in Florida, where my oldest daughter just recently moved to. It's been very crazy, but in a good way!

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!

MOJO112 Thinking of You

Good afternoon,
Well, it's Monday, again! One of my fave days cuz I get to play along with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge! My post have been a little sparse this past week, but I am working on some card sets for gifts and I don't want to post until I have completed each set. They will be coming I promise. So, I do have a card for this week's Mojo Monday #112.

I needed to make a sympathy card today, and it is for someone who is very dear to me. I wanted it to be extra pretty and special. I really like this sketch because I could let the soft designer paper express my feelings with a simple sentiment as the focal point.
Here is the recipe:

Stamps
  • Thoughts & Prayers (Stampin' Up)

Paper

  • Chocolate chip, Old olive, Whisper white (Stampin' Up)
  • Infuse designer paper (Basic Grey)

Ink

  • Close to Cocoa, Old olive, Regal rose (Stampin' Up)

Accessories

  • Nestibilities dies (Spellbinders)
  • Crop-a-dile (We are Memory Keepers)
  • large eyelet (We are Memory Keepers)
  • satin ribbon (Michaels)
  • Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest)
  • dimensionals (Stampin' Up)
  • Cuttlebug (Provo Craft)

I used the Old Olive and Regal Rose ink to sponge around my sentiment. The rest is pretty straight forward. I really like how this turned out even though I hate it when I need to make a sympathy card.

I am half way done with my first 2 sets of cards, so look for the pics soon! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by!

MOJO111 Live, Laugh & Love

Good morning,
I have returned from my trip back east. I was able to catch up with lots of my family and friends. Here's a Shout Out to my "Hearts In Harmony Stampers!" So glad I got to see some of you! I gotta say though, I missed my Nevada sunshine! It has taken me a couple of days to get my internal clock to match the one hanging on my wall, but it's all good now! So, once again I have a card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge #111.

Here is what I came up with. I added a ribbon and omitted the 3 brads. I just adore this SU! designer series paper, Cottage Wall. The colors are fantastic together, don'tcha think?

My recipe goes like this (All products are from Stampin' Up!):

Stamps

  • On Your Birthday

Paper

  • Rich Razzleberry
  • Old Olive
  • Whisper White
  • Orchid Opulence
  • Cottage Wall designer series paper

Ink

  • Old Olive

Accessories

  • Scallop Edge punch
  • Ribbon Originals - Mistletoe (from the Holiday mini)
  • 5/16" whisper white jumbo brad
  • Big Shot
  • Birds & Blooms sizzlits
  • Dimensionals

I really like how clean and simple this looks.

Okay, now that Halloween is over it is time for me to buckle down and really start my holiday crafting and card making. I only have a handful of my stampin' supplies with me here in Las Vegas. We are working on buying a house here and can't wait to be settled some where again!

Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! See you all soon!

Stamps

  • Autumn Days - SU!
  • Wonderful Holiday - CTMH

Paper

  • Ruby Red, Whisper White - SU!
  • wassail designer paper - Basic Grey

Ink

  • Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip - SU!

  • Many Marvelous Markers (always artichoke, chocolate chip) - SU!

Two Cards for Thanksgiving

Happy day to you!
I have two cards to share today. The first one I created for today's Ways to Use It Challenge, WT241, over at SCS.
The Challenge was to use some Patchwork in our project design. I immediately thought of this technique that I like to use up leftover strips of cardstock and designer papers. Doesn't it look like a patchwork quilt? Check out how easy it is to create this. Here is my recipe: (All products are SU unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: The More The Merrier
Paper: Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, DCWV Indian Summer Fall Matstack
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango
Accessories: Big Shot, Swiss Dots embossing folder (provo craft), Top Note die, 1/4" choc. chip grosgrain ribbon, circle punches, dimensionals, blender pens
My second project is another card using yesterday's Sketch Challenge over at SCS. I liked it so much I had to make a second project! When I first saw this stamp set I knew I had to have it! I just love all the 'sticks and twigs' as I like to call them. You can create so many different scenes. Here is my recipe (again, all products are SU! unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Autumn Days, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, DCWV Indian Summer Fall Matstack
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: SU! many markers, large oval and scallop oval punches, Choc. chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, brad(Michaels), dimensionals
Okay, that all I have for now. I am having fun with all these gorgeous fall colors. Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by!! See you again, soon!

Sketch Challenge 251 Very Merry Snowmen

Good morning,
The card I am posting was inspired by today's SCS's Sketch Challenge. I just love layering beautiful designer papers! And these snowmen are cute enough to make anyone smile! Here is my recipe (all products are SU! unless otherwise noted):

Stamps
  • The More The Merrier
  • Short & Sweet

Paper

  • Chocolate Chip
  • Old Olive
  • watercolor paper (Strathmore)
  • Merry Moments designer series paper

Ink

  • Black Stazon
  • Versamark
  • Old Olive
  • Chocolate chip
  • Garden Green
  • Real Red
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Bashful Blue

Accessories

  • 3/4" Real Red Polka dot grosgrain ribbon
  • White Stampin' emboss powder
  • Heat tool
  • Big Shot
  • Finial Press textured impressions embossing folder
  • Aqua Painter
  • Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen (Sakura)

I have to say that my watercoloring isn't my best and my heat embossed sentiment looks a little sloppy. I love the touch of sparkle the clear star gelly roller pen gives to my image.

Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! come back soon!

TESC87 A Kind Word Get Well

Good morning fellow papercrafters! Many of you are probably alot like me in that I like to blog hop to get inspiration and see what other papercrafters are up to. One blog that I visit often is the Taylored Expressions blog. You so need to stop by and check out what Taylor is up to! I needed to make a get well card for a friend and fellow SU! demo who had surgery last week and is in recovery. I loved the sketch challenge that Taylor had posted and that was the starting point for my card.

I just love the little girls in the A Kind Word set by Stampin' Up! They are so fun to color.

PPA12 Merry Moments Dasher

Good afternoon,
I have a beautiful Christmas card to post today. It's Thursday, and that means a new challenge over at the Pals Paper Arts blog. This was a sketch challenge and I just love it! All of the samples are just so wonderful, you should definitely check it out!
Here is my card. Don't you just love the reindeer image?
Here is the recipe (all products are by Stampin' Up!):

Stamps
  • Dasher
  • Christmas Punch

Paper

  • Chocolate Chip
  • Old Olive
  • Real Red
  • Very Vanilla
  • Merry Moments designer series paper

Ink

  • Chocolate Chip
  • Garden Green

Accessories

  • Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon
  • 2-way glue pen
  • Dazzling Diamonds stampin' glitter
  • silver brads
  • Boho Blossoms punch

After stamping the Dasher image in chocolate chip ink, I ran my 2-way glue pen over the antlers and applied the dazzling diamonds. The 3 snowflakes are a single stamp from the Christmas Punch stamp set that coordinates with the boho blossoms punch, very cool! They are popped up on dimensionals after a brad was added to each one. Well, that's all I have for now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by!!

PPA11 and LSC241

Good afternoon! My card for today is the result of 2 challenges. This week's Pals Paper Arts challenge and SCS's weekly Limited Supply challenge. The PPA challenge #11 was a color challenge and we were to incorporate Perfect Plum, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie into our card design. I loved all the the design team's samples and just had to contribute myself. This is my first time actually uploading a card for PPA and I hope it is a worthy entry. For this week's Limited supply challenge we were to get back to basics and create a fall themed card using only paper, stamps and ink. (NO embellishments like ribbon, buttons or brads-yikes!) So, I went to work with both challenges in mind and I am pleased with my result.
Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Autumn Harvest, Sweet Centers (Stampin' Up!)

Paper: Perfect Plum, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Confetti White, Basic Black, Cast-a-Spell DSP (Stampin' Up!)

Ink: Basic Black, Markers (Stampin' Up!)

Tools: circle, scallop circle punches (Stampin' Up!), Top Note Die (Stampin' Up!), Big Shot ( Stampin' Up!/Sizzix), Cuttle Bug Folder (Provo Craft)

The pumpkin and leave images were stamped onto the dsp and then cut out using paper snips. I also used dimensionals to give my card a little depth. Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by!

SC249 Birthday Bee

Hello everyone,

I am back with another Sketch Challenge from the weekly challenges over at SCS. This is what I came up with. I used another one of my Bee images from Stampendous-so cute! Here is the recipe:

Stamps
  • Stampendous

Paper

  • Peacock Tail, Black - Martha Stewart
  • Designer paper - Basic Grey - Urban Prairie
  • Whisper White - Stampin' Up!

Ink

  • Stazon black

Accessories

  • Markers - Stampin' Up!
  • Brads - Stampin' Up!
  • Dimensionals - Stampin' Up!

This went together very quickly. I didn't add a sentiment yet, cuz I'm not sure who it is going to. I stamped just the balloon a second time, colored it in and cut it out and put it on a dimensional. I will definitely be making more cards using this layout! Well, that's all for now. Thanks for stoppi' by!

Our goal is to be all settled before the holidays, so we haven't got a whole lot of time. Wish us luck! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by!

Sketch Challenge 248

Good evening to you all,

I made this card yesterday for SCS's weekly sketch challenge #248. I have been so busy that I haven't had time to upload until now. It is much brighter than how it looks in the pic, but it's late and I don't have any good light. I am gonna make this quick. Here is the recipe: (all products are from Stampin' Up!)
Stamps
  • Great Friend

Paper

  • Rich Razzleberry
  • Melon Mambo
  • Razzleberry Lemonade DSP

Ink

  • Crushed Curry
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Versa Mark (for heat embossing)

Accessories

  • eyelet border punch, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, heat tool, Big Shot, Finial Press inpressions folder, Clear Rhinestone brads, dimensionals

For the sparkly butterflies I stamped them first and then pressed the front of the image onto a versa mark pad, covered with iridescent ice embossing powder and hit it with the heat tool. They really sparkle! I also popped them up on dimensionals. A super fun sketch to work with this week! Enjoy the rest of your night. I am going to watch Survivor!

Try a New Technique Monday - Foil Embossing

Good morning all,
I started off my day checking out the Try a New Technique challenge (TLC240) over at SCS. You can learn how to make beautiful foil embossed backgrounds so check it out. I have done this before using heavy duty aluminum foil without the cardstock.
Don't you just love how shiny the background on my card is? I am super pleased with my result. The adorable Santa image is from CTMH. It's hard to see in the pic, but his beard and all his trim has sparkly fluff which gives it the neatest texture! I went over the swirls and stars with a clear star gelly roll Sakura glitter pen. The sentiment is on dimensionals. Here is the recipe (all products are SU! unless otherwise noted):

Paper
  • Always artichoke
  • real red textured
  • whisper white

Ink

  • basic black

Stamps

  • Wonderful Holiday (CTMH)
  • Short & Sweet

Accessories

  • aluminum foil
  • big shot
  • Petals-a-plenty textured embossing folder
  • circle punches
  • ribbon
  • sparkly fluff (our craft lounge)
  • clear star gelly roll (Sakura)
  • dimensionals

I may make a few more like this to use for some of my Christmas cards this year. Thanks for stoppin' by today!

Smiling Pumpkins for LSC239

Here is a card that I made for today's Limited Supply Challenge over at SCS. This was an S.O.S. call as we were to use materials that incorporate the letters S,O and S.

S = Sanded background stamp
O = Oval punches
S = Stickles

I just love these smiling pumpkins in this set, don't you? Here are the deets for my card. All materials are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

Stamps: The More The Merrier, Sanded Background

Paper: Old Olive, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, watercolor paper, Cast-A-Spell DSP

Inks: Black Stazon, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant, Soft Suede

Accessories: Punches ( small oval, large oval, scallop oval), yellow Stickles-Ranger, Old Olive marker, Aqua painter

I used a simple layout and after I added the yellow stickles I'm not sure if I like them or not...anyway, That's what I have for today. As always, Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by!

MOJO Monday 105

Good morning from sunny Las Vegas! I had time finally to do some more stampin' and I participated in this weeks MOJO Monday weekly sketch. You can check out the blog here.

Here is my card

Based on this sketch.

As you can see, I didn't stray at all from the sketch and I am really pleased with my result. I made this card for my nephew's birthday. He will be 14 at the end of the month, so I hope this isn't too juvenile for him. He is a very rough and tough kinda of kid who loves to play football on his school team. I really wanted to make him a football card but unfortunately all of my sports stamp sets are still back in Upstate NY. So, I made due with the supplies I have. Nothing fancy going on here. The image is popped up using dimensionals. Here are the materials used (all are Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Greetings, Earthling!, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper: Bermuda Bay, Ruby Red, Whisper white, To The Nines Specialty DSP

Ink: Basic Black

Accessories: Markers (bermuda bay, crushed curry, ruby red, sahara sand), Chocolate Chip 1" double-stitched grosgrain ribbon, 1 3/8" circle punch, dimensionals

That's all I have for now. Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by!
