Cupcake Throne Class

Howdy All!

I've got a fun project for you today! A couple of weeks ago I held a class at my house and we made these cute cupcake holders with matching cards. One of my girlfriends asked me to do this class as she saw them on Pinterest and didn't know how to make them. I did find one tutorial online but I didn't like it because you needed to use an 8&1/2" x 11" and a 12" x 12' pieces of cardstock. So I came up with my own template using just 1 sheet of 8&1/2' x 11" cardstock.

So, Here is a copy of my template and also some photos of the process to assemble the box.
Using my Simply Scored tool made prepping for my class quick and easy!

I hope these pics are useful for anyone who may want to try making one of these cute cupcake thrones for a friend or loved one! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a comment.

Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! I hope to see you again real soon!

Summer Smooches Ribbon Memo Board

Howdy All!

Man, I've got lots of things going on right now! You should see my craft room. Yikes!! So, I preordered the new Summer Smooches designer fabric and I LOVE it!
I wanted to make something with it right away, but I am not the best sewer, so I went for a no-sew project. I thought it would look cute as a memo board. I absolutely love how it turned out and it was pretty easy to make.

I just took a 16" x 20" canvas and stapled a layer of batting and then the fabric. I placed the ribbon where I wanted it and then used my paper piercer to poke a hole through the ribbon, fabric, batting and canvas. I punched 1&3/8" and a 1/2" circles and layered them with the brads and secured them to the canvas.

I also stapled the ribbon to the back of my canvas to keep it all secure. This is what it looks like from the back. I still need to add some kind of hangers, but otherwise it is done and it is gorgeous!
I am getting ready to take a trip to PA to visit my grandson and celebrate his 1st birthday. I can't wait to hold him and kiss him!

Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! See you again soon!

Fire Truck Birthday Invites

 Howdy All!
So, my grandson's 1st Birthday is coming up at the end of the month and my son and daughter-in-law are throwing him a big party. We will be flying out to PA of course! I wouldn't miss this party for anything! Anyway, my daughter-in-law asked me if I would like to make the invites and I said 'yes' without hesitation.
I printed all of the wording on my pc and then stamped the fire trucks and colored them in. I drew in some balloon strings and then punched circles out of cardstock to create the balloons. I made 65 invitations and I just love how they turned out!

Now I am working on some matching tags to go on the goodie bags. I will post pics when I get them done!

Well, that's all for now.
Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! Hope to see you again soon!

Mojo Monday #235 on a Tuesday

Howdy All!

I found some time to play around with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch challenge #235. I wanted to make an Easter card for my grandson, Leland, for his 1st Easter. I used a retired SU! stamp set called An Egg-cellent Easter. I also used one of the jumbo Spice Cake designer buttons from 2011's Holiday mini. I've been hoarding them and only use them for very special occasions. I would say that my grandson's first Easter qualifies!

Well, that's all for now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! See you again soon!

March Scrapbook Club Pages 3 & 4

 Howdy All!
Tonight I have the 3rd and 4th pages from my March Scrapbook Club! Most of the ladies that attend my classes have kids so I am trying to create pages that are suitable for kids.
I love how these turned out using this bright color combo of Old Olive, Real Red, Pacific Point, So Saffron and Whisper White.
I was so sad when Stampin' Up! retired the Big Bold Cupcakes sizzlits dies last year. They really are great for scrapbook embellishments! I also used some embossing folders with them to give them some texture as well as the candles. I even added a couple of the frames from the Peekaboo Frames Bigz Die. They create cute little spaces to add dates, journaling or even a small photo!

Well, that's it for now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by and I hope to see you again soon!
