SC282 and F4A14 Birthday Wishes

Happy Sunny Sunday afternoon!

I haven't done any stamping today, but I did create a card on Friday to go along with the Free for All challenge over at SCS. The challenge was to make a project that was inspired by something you collect (other than stampin' supplies). I collect Pachyderms-they are just my fav animal. I have a curio cabinet full of figurines, not to mentions statues, pictures and stuffed animals all over the house. So I used one of my many elephant stamps for my card and decided to also use the layout from Wednesday's Sketch Challenge over at SCS. What a terrific layout that lended to a very quick execution of this card. Here is my supply list:
STAMPS: Elephant stamp by Heather; sentiment is from SU!'s Garden Greetings
PAPER: Confetti White, More Mustard (SU!); Designer paper (Dill Blossom by s.e.i)
INK: Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip (SU!)
THE REST: Ribbon (SU!); ribbon slide (unknown)
The ribbon slide I have had for some time. I;m not sure where it came from, it was just hanging out in one of my little drawers...you know how that it, right? I love the detailed etching on it! Exactly what this simple card needed!
Well, that's all for now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by today! Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend!

CAS67 and CC271 Birthday Wishes

Good afternoon All,

For my card today I incorporated 2 challenges from SCS; The Clean and Simple challenge (CAS67) to make a shabby chic card and the Color Challenge (CC271) using Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango and So Saffron. Check out the links to get all the details! Whenever I create a CAS card I make something that can be done in a short amount of time and that can be reproduced easily. So, i won't use lots of measured layers or complicated techniques. For my card, the only things I measured were the card base and the width of my designer papers. My dp's were then torn along the edges and distressed using scissors and the circles for my flower embellishment were cut freehand, distressed with scissors and crinkled up! I wanted the stamped images to be slightly muted so they were stamped off once and then stamped onto my cardbase. Easy-peasy! Here is my supply list:
STAMPS: Watercolor Trio (SU! Summer Mini)
PAPER: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry (SU!); daisy d's Brighten My Day designer paper
INK: Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, So Safron (SU!)
THE REST: rhinestone brad, lace
This was the first time I inked up this set from SU!'s Summer Mini! I just love it and can already tell that I will be using it ALOT!!
Well, that it for now!
Thanks a bunch for swingin' by!

FS171 You're too kind Casing Ctorina

Good Monday mornin' All,

I had some time for stampin' last night before watching the Survivor finale so I checked out SCS's Sunday challenge - the Featured Stamper's Challenge. Ctorina (aka-Cathleen) has a beautiful gallery of cards and I found it difficult to choose just one to CASE. I wanted to get done quickly so I chose this card. Here is my version of Cathleen's card.

When playing along you must change at least 2 things with your card to make it your own. I kept the basic layout but changed the color scheme and my sentiment is puched using oval punches. I also wrapped my ribbon all the way around my card, just cuz I love gingham ribbon and I wanted to show it off! Congrats to Cathleen for being chosen as this week's Featured Stamper!
Here is my supply list:
STAMPS: Whimsical Words (SU!)
PAPER: Real Red(SU!); 5x7 kraft card base cut down to 5x5(Paper Reflections)
INK: Basic black(SU!)
THE REST: ribbon(Michaels);punches; gems; crimper, pop dots
I layered the punched flowers and mounted them on pop dots to give this card lots of dimension! This card only took me about 20 minutes and half of that was spent on getting my ribbon just right! lol!
Thanks a bunch for swinging by and checking out what I've been up to! See you again soon!

WT270 Be Yourself Framed Art

Good afternoon All,
We are having the most beautiful weather here in Las Vegas: Sunny and 95! I just thought I would share with you today this framed art piece that I created for my youngest daughter's upcoming birthday. I had already made her card using this CTMH stamp set and I was rolling this idea around in my head for a few days. I wanted to do something kind of 'shabby/chic/trendy' ish...if that makes any sense! I started this on Thursday to go along with the Ways to Use it Challenge to use an edge distresser. I used my edge distresser on all of the layers of designer paper. I stamped the images several times in different color inks and then cut the clothing out and paper pieced them. This was very tedious, but I like how it turned out! Kinda like cutting out paper dolls! One thing that I like about CTMH clear acrylic stamps is that I could bend the words to contour the images. I put this in a regular picture frame so I couldn't use too much dimension. I also sponged the mat with pretty in pink ink. Here is my supply list:
STAMPS: Be Yourself (CTMH)
PAPER: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Sahara Sand, Sweet Pea designer series paper (SU!)
INK & MARKERS: Chocolate chip, pumpkin pie, pretty in pink, sahara sand, so saffron (SU!)
THE REST: So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon, punches (SU!); Nestibilities, Cuttlebug, edge distresser
Well, that's it for now! Thanks a bunch for swingin' by today! See you soon and Happy Crafting!!

Mojo Monday 138

Good Tuesday afternoon All,

I have a quick post today with some pics of the card I created for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch. As per usual, this was a great sketch to work with. I don't generally make square cards unless it is for a challenge, but I really like the end result! The cute Bee image is a perfectly clear stamp by Stampendous! It's just way too cute, don't cha think? Here is my supply list:
STAMPS: Futterfly Friends (Stampendous!)
PAPER: So saffron, whisper white (SU!); Honey Pie designer Paper (Cosmo Cricket)
INK & MARKERS: basic black, So saffron, Pretty in Pink, Regal rose, and Creamy Caramelfor sponging (SU!)
THE REST: Buttons & linen thread (SU!); ribbon (Michaels); Stickles
I distressed the edges with scissors and sponged the dp panels. I was kinda going for a shabby chic look. It's hard to see, but there are stickles on the bee's pocket and antennae. This will be going in my card stash till I have just the right person and occassion for it! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by!
