January Scrapbook Club Pages 1 & 2

Howdy All! So, I am finally getting around to posting pics of the first 2 pages from my Monthly Scrapbook Club that I am hosting for a bunch of my girlfriends. For the past few months we have all been talking about getting some scrapbooking done, but of course, we never do! So my solution was to have a Club that would meet once a month at my house and I would provide everything. I am designing all of the pages and I am prepping all of the materials! We met for the first time last week and we had a great time! Everyone loved the pages and I was able to give them a sneak peek at 2 of next months pages. We did two 2-page layouts and here is the first set.
Of course, mine aren't completely done yet because I haven't put any photos on them! I told my girlfriends that I would have that done before next month's meeting. All of the products used are from Stampin' Up! The stamp sets are retired though. the colors I chose for my New Year's theme are Basic Black, Soft Suede, Pacific Point and Whisper White. My style is pretty much clean and Simple. I like that the elements can be moved around if needed.
Well, that is it for now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! Check back tomorrow to see pages 3 & 4 for January!

Mojo Monday Sketch #226

Howdy All! I thought I would start off this week with today's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I know the challenge was to create a round or square card, but I cheated a little by making a regular 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card instead, while still sticking to the sketch. I have been playing around with some more of my goodies from Stampin' Up!'s new Occasions Mini and Sale-a-bration catalogs. They are both packed full of gorgeous products and stamp sets!
Here is my complete supply list (all products used are Stampin' Up!):
 STAMPS:  Elementary Elegance (SAB)

PAPER:  Whisper White, Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo, Baja Breeze, Twitterpated DSP

INK:  Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo

THE REST:  Curly Label and Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punches, Beautiful Wings embosslits die, Big Shot, Basic Rhinestone Jewel, Dimensionals

Well then...that's about it for today! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! Please be sure to stop by again soon!

Nifty Hats I have been working on

So, for those of you who know me well, know that I have to have several projects going at one time. I have been busy with all kinds of card making and I will eventually get to posting some pics, but I also have been busy crocheting. Just before Christmas I had a couple of my girlfriends ask me if I could crochet some animal hats for their daughters and without hesitation I said, "Sure!" Now, I am a visual learner, so I am not very good at following patterns (though I have been successful on a few occasions), but I can look at something and usually figure it out on my own. So, here are the hats that I created in the colors and characters my girlfriends requested.

I actually went on Etsy and did some searches and then took bits and pieces of hats that I liked and came up with my own designs. I didn't write any directions out as I went along, not sure I would be any good at it. At some point I think I might have to figure out how to write a pattern so that I can share with others.

Currently I am working on a baby afghan for a girlfriend's first grandchild who will be arriving in a few weeks. I've got a good start on it and should hopefully be done in a few days. I also have a handful of scarves that I have been working on for the Scarves For Special Olympics project. I've gotta finish those up and get them sent out soon!

Along with all of my crocheting I am preparing for my first Scrapbook Club class which is starting on Jan. 26th. It should be lots of fun! And, again I will make sure to get some photos up soon.
Well, that's about it for now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by to say hi!
Be sure to stop back soon!

p.s. All my hats were created using Red Heart Super Saver yarn!
