SSC170 Giving Thanks

Good evening All, Wow! 2 post in 1 day! I've been very busy stamping and making cards this weekend! I have been stalkin' the Stamping 411 blog for quite some time now and I finally sat down and participated in one of their Saturday Sketch challenge, #170.
What a fantastic sketch this was to work with! I am still working on Thanksgiving cards to send to Operation Write Home and I gotta get them in the mail by Tuesday morning, at the latest!!
I created 4 cards using this sketch. The turkey stamp and sentiment are from a Fiskers Clear stamp set that I have had for a couple of years and never inked up!! Does anybody else do that? So silly! The other image panel is stamped from one of my fav SU! sets, Autumn Days, which has been inked up several times!! The designer paper I used is from a DCWV mat pack from last fall, it has some great papers in it!
Here is my complete supply list:
STAMPS: Autumn Days, Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU!), Turkey Lurkey (Fiskers clear stamps)
PAPER: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip (SU!); Yellow textured cs, designer paper (DCWV)
INKS and MARKERS: Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Early Espresso (SU!)
THE REST: Punches (SU!); ribbon (unknown from my stash)
And there you have it! I did stop by to check out the J-MO Papercrafting and Scrapbook Expo here in Las Vegas and it was a good time. Lots of activities and giveaways. There were about a dozen vendors - not bad for a 1st annual event! It'll be fun to see How it turns out next year! I did manage to spend a few dollars while I was there too!!
Thanks for stoppin' by! See you again real soon!

FS190 CASEing Sallie

Good morning All,
I've got two cards to show you today that I created for the Featured Stamper challenge FS190 over at SCS. Sallie, aka hobbydujour, has some wonderful creations in her gallery. Here is a link to her card that I decided to CASE (Copy And Share with Everyone).
The things that I changed:
1. I didn't have a vase stamp, so I used the ornament punch from SU! and just trimmed of the tip to make it look like a vase
2. I used different stamps
3. I used different colors
4. I used rhinestones instead of 1/2 pearls for my 1st card and stickles on my 2nd card
5. I added 2 layers

I really love how these came out and I may just have to make a whole set, don'tcha think? Oh, for those of you who like to see my supply list:
STAMPS: Stem Silhouettes, Stitched Exotics (SU!)
PAPER: Whisper White, More Mustard, patterns pack I and III (SU!)
INK: More Mustard, Really Rust, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip (SU!)
THE REST: Ornament punch (SU!); Rhinestone gems (Studio18); Stickles (Ranger)
And there you have it!
I am thinking about stoppin' over to the South Point Hotel & Casino this afternoon to check out the J-Mo Papercrafting n' Scrapbook Expo that is going on this weekend. It's too late for me to sign up for any classes, but I thought I might go take a look around. I'll let you know how I make out! Thanks a bunch for stopping by today! See you again soon!

S&S Sketch Challenge #35 and Dutch Dare Card Challenge #87

Good afternoon All,
I have a set of cards to show you that I created last night. As a starting point I went to this week's Sketch challenge over at the OWH Stars & Stamps Blog - S&S sketch #35. As Operation Write Home continues to celebrate their birthday with a month long Birthday Bash, I also used the Dutch Dare Card Challenge #87 which is helping OWH celebrate by featuring them for this challenge. I created 3 Birthday cards and 3 Thinking iof You cards and I wanted these to be 'gender friendly' by choosing designer paper and embellies that weren't too frilly! I just love these 2 Changito stamps by Stampendous!, aren't they just the cutest? Here is my supply list for the whole set:

STAMPS: Changito (Stampendous!); Sentiment (studio g $1 clear stamps)

PAPER: Cardstock (SU!, Bazzill, DCWV); Designer paper (My Mind's Eye)

INK and MARKERS: SU!, Copic

THE REST: punches (SU!); Brads, ribbon (unknown - from my non-SU! stash)

Well, that's it for now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! Please take some time to check out Opereation Write Home and find out how you can help support our troops!

This was an awesome layout for this cute stamp from SU!'s retired Holiday Hedgehogs set. For the WT289 we were challenged to get a headstart on our holiday card making! What a terrific idea! These 2 will be going in my next box of cards headed for Operation Write Home next month! My goal is to have at least 50 cards to send by mid-October. Once I get those done then I can start working on my own! Here is my supply list:

Mojo Monday 157 and Halloween cards for OWH

Good day,
I finally got around to this week's Mojo Monday Sketch challenge #157. I needed to create a card for my youngest son's girlfriend, Maddy, and I wanted it to reflect her bright and unique personality! This sketch was perfect! Of course it took way too long to complete and I went through about 4 other image panels before settling on this cute little trio of flowers. And even then I originally just had them colored in with my SU! markers and it still wasn't quite right, so I added the buttons. Whew! Mucho better!
Here is the quick supply list:

Cardstock, circle punches, brads, orange button, ribbon, sentiment (SU!); Designer Paper, blue button (BasicGrey); border punch (Martha Stewart); Flower Trio stamp (imaginisce); yellow button from my button jar

I've also posted a couple of photos of some of the Halloween cards that I sent to Operation Write Home last week. I still have more to show you as the week goes on! These were a few of the quicker, easier ones that I did using one sheet of 12 x 12 2-sided designer paper. Here is the quick supply list for these cards:

STAMPS: Tag Time (SU!)

PAPER: Whisper White (SU!); Boo to You designer paper (My Mind's Eye); black and orange cs from my non SU! stash

INK and MARKERS: SU!

THE REST: Marvy punches, brads and ribbons from my non-SU! stash

Well, that's it for right now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by and checkin' out what I've been up to!
Please be sure to stop back again soon to see some more challenge cards and halloween and fall cards!

Having Fun With Operation Write Home Birthday Bash Card Challenges

Good afternoon,

Yesterday, on the Operation Write Home Facebook page, they celebrated their birthday with a day full of challenges. There were 8 in total and I was able to participate in 4 of them. Here are the cards that I created:

Challenge #4: Oh Baby! - to make a card for a baby or small child to receive

Challenge #5: Bling It Up! - to add lots of bling to a card
Challenge #7: Love Makes The World Go round
Challenge #8: Show Off A Sticker
Okay...getting frustrated as usual...I was trying to put the challenge names above each card and I have spent over 1/2 an hour and have had to upload my pics 3 times now! So, I will just live it like this.

This is one of the reason I have come to dislike posting to my blog...nothing ever looks the way I want it to. Guess I am not Blog savvy enough! Whew!

I still have more projects to show you, but I am go and relieve some stress and make some cards! lol! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! Sorry for the messy post!

Mojo Monday 156

Good evening All,
It's been a busy week as I got another box of cards to the post office for our troops through Operation Write Home. I sent 60 cards, half of which were Halloween cards! I just had to use this week's Mojo Monday 156 sketch for some of them!

I started off with watercoloring the pumpkin image on the first card I did and then I had the idea to paper piece the other 5! I love them both ways! The ones that I paper pieced I also used dimensionals to pop the pumpkins up! Each card is a little different, but they were all made using Stampin' Up!'s Autumn Harvest stamp set and Making Memories' Spook Alley designer paper that I have had since last year and have been hoarding!! lol!! I am really BAD! I used a mixture of cardstocks and ribbons, some from SU! and the rest from my huge stashes! I will try my bestest to post the rest of the halloween cards this weekend. I used some quick and easy layouts that may give you some inspiration for your halloween and fall cards! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! See you again real soon!
