Mojo Monday 175 Sew Suite Birthday Wishes

Happy day to you all! I played along with this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge #175. I wanted to make a birthday card for my new SU! demo friend, Jeanna, to let here know how much I appreciate her for inviting me into her home and letting me stamp with her and her wonderful group of ladies! I just know I will be forming some lasting friendships! Jeanna has the most wonderful projects that that I will hafta take some pics of and get posted! Sew...I decided to go outta my comfort zone a little and I took the cover off of my sewing machine and decided to stitch a little on my card. I did a little zigzag stitchin' around the the designer paper panels, can you see it? Not to shabby for someone who does not sew. It was as hard as I was anticipating!I used one of the sets from the new SU! Occasions mini catalog called Sew Suite, it's just sew cute! Here is my complete supply list (all products are SU!):

STAMPS: Sew Suite

PAPER: Sahara Sand, Pacific Point, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Blueberry Crisp dsp

INK & MARKERS: Sahara Sand, Not Quite Navy

THE REST: Crochet trim, corduroy button, circle die, big shot, blender pen, sewing machine, sponge

I did do some distressing on the tape measure and sponged along the edges of the panels with sahara sand. I just love the colors in the Blueberry Crisp dsp, it's yummy!

Welp! That's it for now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! See you again real soon!

I hopped on SCS yesterday to check out the Ways To Use It challenge and came up with these cards. WT306-absolutely GRADIENT -challenged us to use either a Gradient ink pad or make our own by combining more than one color of ink to our stamp. I chose the later and used Rose Red, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink to create this lovely image! Supply List:All products used are Stampin' Up!

STAMPS: Upsy Daisy, Well Scripted

PAPER: Whisper White, Rose Red

INK: Rose Red, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink

For my second set of cards I needed a birthday card for my brother-in-law and I created this card and then decided to go ahead and make 4 more to send on to OWH. Hats, Mittens & Scarves

Happy day! So today I have some pics of the cute hat, mitten and scarf sets I crocheted for my sweet nieces, Aaliyah - age 4 and Bianca - age 1 & 1/2. Each set was completed in a weekend while watching tv and I decided to use variegated yarn so I didn't need to change colors and weave in lots of ends. I just love little mittens for little hands, don't you? These were my very first attempts at crocheting mittens and I must admit that I am extremely pleased with the end result and I will definitely be making more! I recently joined an online crochet website, www.allfreecrochet.com, that has all kinds of neat crochet patterns that are free for all different levels of crocheters. They also provide tips and videos, so give it a look-see when you get a chance! Here is a link to the pattern for the mittens that I used:
Well, that's it for now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by today! See you again soon!!

A Box Of Cards For OWH

Ooops! I missed posting to my Blog yesterday, but I was very busy getting a box of cards together to send to my shipper for Operation Write Home. If you have not done so yet, please check out the link on my side bar for this wonderful organization. I sent 65 of my handmade cards! About 2/3 were Valentine cards. We have to get cards for the holidays in early so that there is enough time to get them shipped all over the world to our Troops and then still have time for them to get them written in and sent back home to their loved ones! Here is just a sampling of the cards I made. All of the products used for these cards are from Stampin' Up! Some new and some old, but all wonderful! I hope you stop back again soon as I will post some more card pics and I still want to show you the cute crocheted sets I made for my nieces! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by!

It's a New Year!

It's a new day, a new week, a new month and a new year!! I know I have been missing for a couple of months, but I had things piling up on my plate that just had to be taken care of! I have missed posting to my Blog and hope to get back into the swing of things and posting as often as I can! I spent most of November and December preparing for Christmas. I love to make handmade gifts for the people in my life that I love the most!
Here are two hat and scarf sets that I crocheted for my 2 teenage nephews. I did them in their school colors so they can show their school spirit! The hat in the top photo was basically from a pattern I found in an old Bernat Learn To Crochet booklet that was published in 1970! I altered it slightly to make it striped and then I just whipped up the scarf to match.
The hat in the bottom photo came from a Leisure Arts booklet called Chase the Chill from 1998. Again, I altered slightly and then created the scarf to match! I sure hope these will keep the boys warm back in Rochester, NY! Stop back tomorrow to see more handmade goodies!
Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by!
