Halloween Wreath

Howdy All!
I am so glad to be posting today! I have a really neat project to show you that I worked on over the weekend.
I'm not sure what they are called - Lollies/Rosettes/Paper YoYos - but they are made using the new Stampin' Up! Simply Scored tool! My inspiration for this wreath came from page 6 in the new SU! holiday mini. All of the products used are from SU! or finds from the dollar store. I had planned on letting more of the wrapped grapevine show but I just kept adding more and more lollies!! The best part about this project is that I spent less than $10 at the dollar store and I have enough stuff to make 2 or 3 more! All of the 'Lollies' are made from strips of dsp or cardstock measuring 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2" and 2" wide.

SU! Products:
STAMPS: Spooky Bingo Bits

PAPER: Frightful Sight dsp, First Edition dsp, Old Olive, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Cajun Craze

INK: Basic Black

ACCESSORIES: Simply Scored, Circle punches, various buttons, brads and hardware(some retired), hemp and baker's twine

From the Dollar Store:

Plastic Skeletons ( 4 pak), sparkly spiders(3 pak), bag of spider webbing, roll of ivory tulle, black creepy cloth (you get lots in 1 pak), grapevine wreath(they come in 3 sizes - I used a 13", straw basket filler, and black pipe cleaners

I started out by covering the grapevine wreath with some Creepy Cloth using my hot glue gun. Then I went to town making my 'lollies' and I laid them all out before hot glue gunning them onto my wreath. Last I hot glue gunned all the extra stuff on. It came out a little lop-sided, but I am still pleased with it!

Halloween Treats and My Grandson's Visit

I wanted to start off my post tonight with a quick photo of my adorable grandson, Leland! He came to Las Vegas to visit Grammy and Grampy at the beginning of the month. I hadn't seen him since he was 4 weeks old and now he is 4 months old! Don't you just want to kiss that face?!
Okay, so now to my project! Tonight I have the last of my 4 swaps that took to the SU! Regionals last month. I created some quick treat holders for Halloween using the Two Tags Bigz Die and some fun punch art. The ghost was made using the Owl builder punch - can you see it? I just punched the owl out in Whisper White cardstock, cut off the little feet and turned him up-side-down! FUN! The little pumpkin next to my ghost was created with three 3/4" cirlce punches and the Boho Blossom punch. For the large pumpkin holders I punched 3 Extra-large ovals from some Tangerine Tango cardstock, sponged the edges with the same color ink, layered them and then ran them through the Big Shot with various embossing folders. The stem is just the Jewelry Tag punch and the leaves are from the Bird builder punch. Here is a complete list of supplies used (All products used are Stampin' Up!):

Regional Swap #3

I have for you today my third card swap from last week's Stampin' Up! Regionals here in Las Vegas. Since my first two swaps were holiday themed I decided to go with a thank You card for my third design. I absolutely love the colors in the Berry Blossoms DSP! So, I just had to use it for this card! I really liked how this card turned out and it was pretty easy to put together! Here is a complete supply list (all products are Stampin' Up!):

For the butterflies I stamped the image using the same color ink as the cardstock and then punching them out.

Regionals Swap #2

Today I have for you my second swap card from last week's Stampin' Up! Regionals here in Las Vegas. This is my Halloween card using the Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set and the Frightful Sight DSP. I had such a hard time deciding which 4 little images I wanted to use for my card! They are all soooo cute! I wanted this card to be Bold with clean lines. This is a pretty straight forward card. The only challenging part was heat embossing the spider, cat, pumpkin and bat! Here is a complete supply list (all products used are stampin' Up!):

SU! Regionals 2011 Swap #1

Howdy all! I realize it has been a few months since my last post. I was experiencing issues with my old pc and then I was out of the habit of posting anything anywhere. I have also been busy with lots of visitors and I even have my 4 month old grandson coming next week!! I can't wait to hug and kiss him!! After going to this year's Stampin' Up! convention in Salt Lake City in July and attending Su! Regionals here in Las Vegas, I have been inspired to get back to my blog! I have been doing lots of stamping between convention, regionals, family and friends' birthdays and anniversaries and OWH cards. The card(s) I have for today I created for swapping at Regionals yesterday. I made 35 of these winter cards using one of my favorite sets in the new Idea Book and Catalog, Snow Much Fun! I love this snowman and there also is a tall skinny snowman in the set that I will be using lots! The layers on my card are pretty basic. I ran the Early Espresso layer through the Big Shot with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder. I used the tearing technique for the Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade, and the Crumb Cake layers (I am a texture freak!) I stamped my snowman with Early Espresso ink and used an aqua painter to color him in with ink from the tops of my ink pads. I then spritzed over it with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz! It's hard to see in the pics, but looks shimmery in real life! After layering all the pieces I tied some yummy Cherry Cobbler Baker's twine around some cute mini brads! Some Cards I Made Recently

Howdy All!

Just thought I would post some pics of some of the projects I have been working on! I have been very preoccupied as my oldest son and his wife spent the weekend working hard to bring my first grandchild into the world! Leland Nelson was born on Easter Sunday and I couldn't be prouder! I can't wait to travel to Syracuse in 2 weeks and hold him in my arms!

The silly bunny cards used SU! products along with some pattern paper from MME. The sentiments were computer generated. The other 2 designs are all SU! I will try to stop back tomorrow and possibly post a pic of my grandson if I can...I was having issues trying tonight!

Petal Pizzazz For You

Howdy All! I've been gone for a few months, but now I am back!! I've got a quick card tonight using today's SCS color challenge, CC318, to use Pretty in Pink, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz and Stamping 411's saturday sketch challenge SSC198. I haven't used my Petal Pizzazz stamp set in a while and I loved this set when it came out! I still do! Here is my supply list(All products are Stampin' Up!): STAMPS: Petal Pizzazz, Happy Moments PAPER: Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White INK: Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron THE REST: border punch, tiny tag punch, ribbon, linen thread, Polka Dot embossing folder, big Shot It's kinda hard to see in the pic, but the Pretty in Pink layer is stamped with PIP ink and was run thru the big shot with the polka dot embossing folder.
