Mojo Monday 136 First Apartment

Good mornin' All,

I've got a quick post today with a card that I made for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge-MOJO136.

This was a fun sketch and I really like how my card turned out. I actually had this done and in the mail on Monday and then realized that I never posted it on my Blog or on the Mojo blog. I used one of SU!'s clear stamp sets from their Sale-a-bration promotion called Good Neighbors. This card went to my youngest son and his girlfriend who are moving off campus and into their own apartment in May! I am very excited for them! This is a very big step in my son's life and he makes me very proud! I also threw in a $200 Target gift card to help them along with all those little things you need to get when you move! Anyway...here is the supply list:

STAMPS: Good Neighbors, Really Retro (SU!)

PAPER: Greenhouse designer paper by Carolyn Gavin for K&Company (I am in love with this paper!), whisper white (SU!), textured cardstock (unknown-from my stash)

INK: SU!

THE REST: Button (Basic Grey), punch, dimensionals (SU!), nestibilities and cuttlebug, Satin ribbon, hemp

That's it for now! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! See you again soon!

A Color Challenge and a Sketch Challenge

Hi All,
I've got two cards to show you today. The first one was made for this week's color challenge over at Splitcoaststampers - CC268. We were to use Old Olive, Barely Banana and Ballet Blue. There also was a Dessert option color, which was red, but only as an embellishment! This is what I came up with. It's a very simple card, but I love how it turned out! Here is the supply list:

STAMPS: Garden from the Heart (SU!)

PAPER: K&Company designer paper, Whisper White, Old Olive, Ballet blue, Barely banana (SU!)

INKS & MARKERS: Chocolate chip, ballet blue, barely banana, old olive, creamy caramel for sponging (SU!)

THE REST: spellbinders' nestibilities, Cuttlebug and embossing folder, red half-pearls, red grosgrain ribbon

The second card was made for today's
Sketch challenge at SCS - SC278. I absolutely love this sketch and how my card turned out!! Yippee for me! I used the 2-Step Stampin' preview set from SU!'s upcoming catalog called Awash with Flowers! What a pretty and fun set to work with! Here is the supply list:

STAMPS: Awash with Flowers, Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU!)

PAPER: K&Company designer paper, whisper white (SU!), others (unknown - from my stash)

INKS: Chocolate chip, pretty in pink, regal rose, certainly celery, barely banana (SU!)

THE REST: Button, dimensionals (SU!), pink gemstones, pink organza ribbon, hemp(unknown - from my stash)

As I unpacked boxes and boxes of paper crafting supplies when I set up my new stampin' space, I realized that I had a ton of stuff that I bought years ago before I was introduced to Stampin' Up!, Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket, My Mind's Eye etc...(Some of my faves). I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it so I am trying to commit to using it! So, in my supply lists I may not always know who the manufacturer is because I used to just open things up and throw out the wrappers and such! This was way before I ever would have thought about bloggin' or that anyone might want to know!
Well, anyway...that's what I have for today! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by and having a look-see at what I have been up to! See you again soon!

WT267 Mixing Patterns

Happy Earth Day All! I have a quick post tonight as it is getting a bit late. I've been thinking about this card for my youngest son's 21st birthday for a few days and I have known for a few years that I would be making a card like this for him. He has been talking about turning 21 and going to Vegas for a while and is planning a trip when he is done with classes for the semester. Lucky for him and us that my husband and I moved to Las Vegas a few months ago and now he can visit us too!! Woot! Woot! When Stampin' up came out with the game night set and the Jackpot designer paper I knew they would be perfect for this project! Today's Ways to Use It challenge over at Splitcoaststampers was to mix different patterned papers-perfect for what I wanted to do! There are quite a few layers to this card and the Royal Flush is from a deck of mini cards that I purchased at the $ store about 2 years ago! They are the perfect size for this 5" x 7" card! Even though this is for my son I had to add a little Bling-cuz that's what Vegas is all about, Baby! Here is the quick recipe:

Paper: real red, basic black, whisper white, so saffron, Jackpot dp

Stamps: Game Night, On Your Birthday

Ink: basic black, so saffron, real red

Accessories: mini cards, ribbon, rhinestone brads(SU!), stickles, card suits edge punch(EKSuccess), punches(SU!)

The row if poker chips are punched from the Jackpot dp with a 1/2 circle punch. Well, that's it for now! Time for me to get to bed! Thanks for stoppin' by today! See you soon!

It's Mojo Monday Card Sketch #135

Good morning All,

I had a great time visiting my family for Easter. I have been making some cards but just haven't found the time to sit and post anything to my Blog. I think I feel that I need to type lots of stuff and post all the products I use on my cards in case someone wants that info and also to give companies the credit for their products. But sometimes that just seems too daunting! So, I opt out of posting to my Blog...Silly, huh? I've been thinking about this for a while, and I have decided that I am gonna do what works best for me. Which may mean I don't list all the products I have used or sometimes I may just want to say "Hi" even though I don't have a specific creation to share. Is anyone relating to me here? lol!

Okay, with that being said...I do have a card I want to show you all! Ahhh, I love Mojo Monday sketch challenges and here is this weeks, #135. This card took much longer than I would've like, but I just couldn't decide on my embellishments. I used my Stampin' Up! sale-a-bration set called Happy Moments. I ordered the clear stamps and I love them. They are so easy to work with and still give that great crisp image that SU! is known for! Here is a quick list of my supplies:
Paper: DCWV cardstock, Making Memeories (Chloe's Closet) designer paper, Whisper White
Stamps: Happy Moments
The Rest: Ink, markers, ribbon, punches-SU!, button, hemp twine, half pearls-unknown, nestibilities with my cuttlebug
Thanks so much for stoppin' by and listening (reading) all my ramblings! I hope you stop by again soon!

SC273 Baby Bianca's Birthday #1

Good Afternoon! I am back today with a sweet card for a sweet baby girl who will be turning one on April 3rd, my niece, Bianca! I started out with today's sketch challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. You can't tell by the photo, but the lion's mane and face are paper pieced and on dimensionals, so it has really nice dimension to it. The polka dotted designer paper is textured and the bg designer paper has pretty glitter. Here is the recipe (all products are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted)

Stamps:
  • Fox and Friends
  • Teeny tiny Wishes

Paper:

  • Melon Mambo, Perfect Plum, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
  • DCWV Nana's Kids premium stacks designer paper

Ink:

  • Melon Mambo, Perfect Plum, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun

Accessories:

  • Melon Mambo polka dot ribbon
  • Spellbinders Nestibilities
  • dimensionals
  • Cuttlebug

The hardest part of making this card was cutting out the lion's mane and face. Otherwise, this was a quick and easy card and sketch to work with! Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by today!

SC258 and Some Quick Pics

Good afternoon,
It looks like this will most likely be my last post before Christmas (if everything goes as planned). I will be flying back to New York tomorrow and hopefully staying until the 25th or so, but that depends on when the banks can close on our house here in Las Vegas. We will need to come back for that, but no date has been set...I was able to fit in some mad stamping while I was packing up the apartment, I just wanted to make sure I had enough Christmas cards made to take back with me cuz now my stamping stuff is sitting in a storage facility :( This first pic is of the cards I made using this week's Sketch Challenge #258 over at Splitcoaststampers. I made a dozen using 2 coordinating sheets of designer paper from My Mind's Eye and a Christmas Fluffles image (Stampendous) and a CTMH elf image. All Cardstock is Stampin' Up! and the images were colored in using my SU! markers. As you look at my photos, notice that all were made using just paper, stamps and ink. No ribbon, brads or buttons so that I can mail these quickly and easily in a regular SU! envelope. Yesterday I spent over an hour in line at the post office to mail some of my cards that were embellished and needed padded envies and extra postage, yikes! The next 2 pics are cards and the last 2 pics show the gift card holders that I made. For all of these I used designer paper by My Mind's Eye and SU! cardstock, ink and markers for coloring. All of the white circles are punched using SU! 1&3/4" punch and then mounted on a Spellbinder's nestibilities scallop circle die. I chose to make them all the same size to make thing go quicker. Each group of cards was made in 3 - 4 hours which for me is like Speedy Gonzalez!! Woot! Woot! The ornament cards used SU! stamp sets as well as the sentiments for the reindeer cards. Reindeer image is from CTMH.

For the gift card holders I used a Changito monkey and a Penguin Pals stamp by Stampendous and the 2 snowman image is a stamp that I got from the $1 bin at either Michael's or Joann's last year. The sentiment inside is from a SU! set.
Well, that is all I have time for, I got a couple more things to do fast-fast and then I gotta shutdown my PC and prepare it for storage. Someday I hope to get a laptop so that I can have a computer with me all the time...someday. Happy Holidays to you all and wish me luck with the purchase of our house here in Las Vegas as well as the sale of our house back in New York!
Thanks a bunch for taking time to stop by!!
