SC218 Hubby's Birthday

Wow! It has been kinda crazy for me the past few days. I made it over to Splicoaststampers to check out today's challenge, SC218. Friday is my wonderful hubby's birthday and I still needed to make his card so I decided to use this fun layout. Here is the full recipe ( all products are Stampin' Up! except for the DP):

Stamps: Owl Together Now

Paper: Night of Navy, Sage Shadow, Confetti white, Making Memories DP

Ink: Basic Black, Night of Navy, Sage Shadow, Basic Gray, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Sarhara Sand, Mellow Moss, Close to Cocoa

Accessories: silver brads, hemp twine, Big Shot, CB swiss dots embossing folder, Lots of Tags die, sponges, circle punches, aqua painters

The images were colored using an aqua painter and my SU! ink pad lids and then sponged on the edges with Night of Navy ink. The sentiment is on dimensionals. The Sage Shadow panel was run through the Big Shot with the CB Swiss Dots EF. This went together pretty quick and easy. I hope he likes it!

CC207 and Sc217 class card

HI all,

I've had a very busy week so far and it 's gonna continue right through the weekend. My oldest daughter came up on the train from NYC on Tuesday and I had a stamp class at my house that night. It was a great turnout and everyone seemed to enjoy the projects. I have a friend who is hosting a stamp class at her house on Saturday and I am still working on the samples! She wants to see some new techniques so I came up with this card that uses stamping with bleach.I also wanted to incorporate some of the challenges over at SCS that I missed on Tues. and Wed. (color challenge CC207 and Sketch challenge SC217 respectively). Now, I was messing around with the bleach last weekend and had a small plastic container with a folded paper towel soaked in bleach in it and I was stamping away and then I put the cover on the container to go do something and when I came back an hour later and tried stamping with it again it didn't work anymore! Has anyone ever had this happen to them? My concern was that if I do this technique at a workshop will the people who get to make this card last have bad bleach? So, after much thought I decided to fill an aqua painter with the bleach and then "color" the bleach onto the stamp like a marker and then stamp it. It worked like a charm, so now I just gotta check in a little while to see if my bleach goes bad in the aqua painter. I used 2- 2 step stamp sets to created my images. I stamped the solid stamp in bleach first and then the outline stamp in classic ink over the beached image. Here is a tutorial by Beate Johns over at SCS if you are interested. This is another project that we did at my Tuesday night Big Shot class. I love to make these little goody bags!

CAS for my Stamp Class

Good afternoon! I spent the weekend working on card designs for my Big Shot class this week. I am very excited about the projects we will be making. I was just going to do 4 projects because some of them are kind of involved, but I decided to add a 5th one and make it a Clean and Simple ( aka CAS) card. I don't want to spoil the surprise for the whole class in case any of my ladies happen onto my blog before tomorrow night, but I thought I would show a sneek peek. So here is my CAS card that uses felt with the Flower Layers #3 originals die. I wanted to show how different materials can be used with the Big Shot. For this card I have a bunch of different colored squares of felt cut up that my guests can choose from to die-cut there flowers and then layer on their card. I can't wait to see how all of their's turn out! Here is the complete recipe: ( Of coarse everything is Stampin' Up! except for the felt squares)

Stamps: Petal Pizzazz, Sweet Little Sentiments

Paper: Old Olive, Whisper white

Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Big Shot, Flower Layers #3 Originals die, Button Bouquet, hemp twine, mini glue dots, dimensionals

The felt flowers are adhered using mini glue dots and the button is up on 2 layered dimensionals after the hemp is tied on.

WT206 Striped Shirt For Dad

Mornin'! Here I am again, with another card! Today's challenge over at SCS is the Ways to Use It challenge and we were to use stripes in our projects. Now, I must be honest and tell you that this really wasn't a challenge for me cuz I love stripes! If you were to go thru my decorative papers right now you would find a ton of striped papers. For some reason I am drawn to them and the more colors there are the better! So, I needed to work on some card designs for an upcoming workshop that a friend of mine is hosting. She wants me to demo some different techniques and she specifically requested an origami shirt card that could be used for Father's Day. I love the DSP that is part of the sale-a-bration promotion so I grabbed this striped piece as my starting point. It makes a great shirt, don'tcha think? I also had to use my new Stampin' Up! Texturz plates. It's kinda hard to see in the photo, but I used the diamond one on the certainly celery panel. I also chose the Wonderful Favorites stamp set cuz there are so many people options besides just father, like uncle, brother, husband, and son. SC216 Flutterfly Wishes

Good morning! Ok, so I got up this morning and decided to do some stampin' first before I really got started with my day. My first stop is always SplitCoastStampers and I went to today's sketch challenge. Today's sketch was not something I would normally do, it must be those circles that turned me off a bit, but I went for it anyway. I spent about 2 hours on just one card! Now I am gonna hafta kick it into high gear to get all my chores done. So, real quick, here is the recipe:

Stamps: Flutterfly Friends clear stamps by Stampendous

Paper: Basic Grey Two Scoops dp, textured cs by Bazzill, SU! confetti white

Inks: Su! basic black plus lots of various colors

Accessories: Su! punches, aqua painter, sticky gems (unknown), Making Memories brad, American Crafts plastic flowers, Jo-Ann ribbon

I watercolored the images using an aqua painter and ink from the lids of my SU! classic ink pads. I feel like I distorted the sketch a little but I think it turned out ok. Feels like there is alot going on!

Ok, I am off!! I already started the dishes, but I still gotta get to those 4 SU! boxes!

I needed to make up a bunch of thank you cards to go with all the orders from a workshop I did couple of weeeks ago. So I whipped up a dozen of these using today's color challenge over at SCS.

Each card was slightly different.

WT205 Using Fabric

OK, so I was able to squeeze in the Ways to Use It challenge over at SCS today. We were to incorporate fabric into our card. I went easy-peasy and found some scrap fabric I had laying around and ran it through my Big Shot with a sizzix flower die. I also used my Big Shot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder to add the swiss dot texture to my triangle layer. Here is my recipe for this card:

PAPER: SU Cameo Coral, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, watercolor paper

INK: Stazon Black, Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral, Summer Sun, Certainly Celery, More Mustard, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive

ACCESSORIES: Offray Ribbon, Scrap plaid fabric, button by La-di-dah, Big Shot, aqua painter

The image was colored in using an aqua painter and my SU ink pad lids. And that is pretty much it! The certaily celery and Chocolate chip layers were scraps I had already cut from other projects. WooHoo, I love using up scraps! This card took 20 minutes! Yay for me! Now I must get back to some other things. Thanks for stoppin' by!
